Kelly Deli, a rapidly expanding global food company, has been bringing Pan-Asian cuisine to the UK and mainland Europe through their brands Sushi Daily, Kelly Loves, Bam Tuk and TukTuk. With over 100 locations in the UK serving fresh, delicious sushi daily, they faced a significant challenge during the Covid lockdowns due to supply chain disruptions.

This led them to seek a British supplier for their essential ingredient, Japanese 7 spice Shichimi Togarashi, to ensure continued quality and supply reliability. 


Understanding Kelly Deli’s strict ingredient evaluation process, Cheeky Food entered their shichimi togarashi into Kelly Deli’s rigorous sampling and approval procedure.

Our product underwent a blind taste test, competing against the incumbent S&B togarashi, with particular focus on matching the texture, heat level, and overall flavour profile that Kelly Deli’s customers had come to expect and appreciate over the years. 


The blind taste test was a crucial moment, and our confidence in our product was well founded. Cheeky’s shichimi togarashi not only met but exceeded expectations, leading to its adoption across Kelly Deli’s Sushi Daily kiosks. This transition to our British-manufactured togarashi maintained the authentic Asian flavours that Kelly Deli’s customers cherished, ensuring their culinary standards remained uncompromised during a challenging period.  

We have now expanded distribution with their European distributor to supply our Japanese Schichimi Togarashi to all their European outlets.

What are Sprinkles ?

Sprinkles are seasoning mixes of superfood seeds, spices and herbs that are an easy way to add flavour, texture and nutrition to everyday meals.

While a spice mix is usually used during cooking, sprinkles are ready to eat and can be added on top of finished meals to improve the flavour and visual impact of the dish.

A Sprinkle a day keeps the bland away. Sprinkles can be your chef’s new best friend to quickly add layers of flavour to a base recipe.
For example, the same base soup can be flavours with a Coconut Thai Sprinkle or a Japanese Shichimi Sprinkles creating two completely unique end dishes.
Our sprinkles are also premixed in the right proportions to cut down cooking time for your kitchen staff.
